Ikasucon.

Journal Entry: Sun Jul 10, 2011, 6:38 PM
Wow, what a weekend. Let's just say I was eager for it to end. Staying up late, waking up early, I need my sleep. I'm use to getting so much more sleep than I had gotten. And being around the same people for hours and days on end can get a little annoying, but that happens.

First time selling at an anime convention. We sold stuff at Summit City Comic Con earlier in the summer. I had fun making all the Index cards for people. I don't know exactly how many I made, but I made quite a bit. Most of them for two ladies. One of them was dressed as Dave (Dabe) from Homestuck and her friend. I didn't catch their names. They hung out and spend, I swear to God, like $20. I was actually expecting to get more Homestuck requests considering how popular it is. I only got a few from Dabe. But hey, they were fun.

I made lots of awesome friends. :icontoontwins: were really nice and I can't wait to see them again at San Japan. It's too bad they had to leave Saturday to go back to the windy city.

We shared our table with :iconspiffychicken: and that was a good time. I'm glad she had fun and sold lots. Good for you!!

There are perks to being on staff, and not just getting in free.
10% off and $15 T-shirts. Oh yea...

I'm excited! We're gonna buy a button machine hopefully soon!! And I'll be getting a commission in the mail too!

This year. Ikasucon Starcade. We DOMINATED!!!! OH man!! We didn't fail this year!! Let's just say that we won $25 gift cards to GameStop and that is friggin awesome.

OMG! My guerrilla marketing worked!! A while back I stuck some of our business cards in a few manga back at the Barns & Nobel. Someone had bought a volume of K-ON! and we met her there! It was really cool.

Oh man, the cosplays this year were really good. Okay, you know the movie Perfect Blue? No? Well look it up, it's really really really good. Anyway, there was a Mima cosplayer there and she was so fantastic. Her cosplay was the most perfect thing I had ever seen. The best part about it was that she was Mima. Her body was amazing for Mima. And on top of that, she made the costume. I wish I had a picture of her, but trust me, you'll see it soon enough. But oh man, she was the sweetest thing. So nice, so sweet. And then the BioShock cosplayers. Oh man, four splicers and a Big Sister, they were so good! I got to try on the Big Sister helmet. It explains why she was scared getting up on stage. They were all so cool. I hope they come to the Fort Wayne Zombie Walk.

In retrospect, I had an alright time. I just kinda have to spend some time alone now and get some drawing finished. Saw some old friends, met some new friends. It was jokay.

Our next con is gonna be Kokomo Con down in Kokomo, IN. I'm gonna try and book the table soon as I can.

I'll talk to you later, thanks for listening to my ramblings.

I'm Melanie, friend of Dabe. I've got all those index comissions on my wall :B My fiance thought we'd gone insane when I showed him all of them. Hope you're feeling better!

HEY! How's it going?

Well, your fiance is the one who's insane. So there.

We're actually going to another convention in October in Kokomo, IN. But it's a comic con, so I don't think you'll find much of a liking to it.

I was feeling much better, thank you.

I just need to be alone for a little bit and just do my own thing for a while.

I'm just very tired.
